Stop the Bleed
What makes our Stop the Bleed classes different from others? For one, we believe in small class sizes. Public classes are limited to no more than 5 people; in the Fire and EMS world this is considered to be the ideal span of control. It allows the instructor to give proper attention to each student, and ensures plenty of hands-on practice for each student. Some of our customers include Churches, Schools, Scout Groups, sporting areas, ranges, and of course general public.
The normal Stop the Bleed curriculum covers the ABC’s of bleeding control. However, every person needs to know more than just that. Instructors go into higher level skills, as well as the WHY of each skill. It’s all well and good to know how to use a tourniquet, but knowing when to tourniquet a wound vs using a bandage is invaluable.
We enjoy custom tailoring our classes to your desires. Want to learn how to manage small injuries? Burns, sprained/strained joints, broken bones? If there’s a skill you want to know, let us know! We’ll do our best to accommodate it.
Our most common style of class is the Stop the Bleed Tactical. This covers tourniquet usage, wound packing, direct pressure, trauma dressings, chest seals, shock, and the fundamentals of equipment. Students get to practice hands-on with a variety of tourniquet brands, trauma dressings, packing wounds, and jump into the theory of how to manage different traumatic injuries.
CPR
We’re pleased to now offer CPR courses! As a Certified Instructor through American Heart Association, completion of this course will not only grant a Heartsaver certification, but you will leave with the knowledge and confidence to act when it matters most, and save a life. Whether you’re looking to take the class for the first time, or renew your certification, we’d love to help!
The AHA Heartsaver class is designed for those with little to no medical training, who requires a course completion card for their job, club, or regulatory(OSHA). Recognized by almost all employers, the AHA has been the leader in heart research for many years.
We offer both Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid, and the standalone Heartsaver First Aid.
BLS
As Certified AHA Instructors, we can now instruct initial Basic Life Support courses, as well as renewals. This course is meant for those who are in or plan to be in the medical field. Pre-hospital care such as Firefighters, Law Enforcement, and EMS all require BLS instead of regular CPR certifications, which must be renewed every 2 years. In-house staff such as doctors, nurses, and physicians also require BLS to remain up-to-date. Other jobs, such as lifeguards, child care, and flight attendants to name a few, also require BLS.
Not sure if you need CPR or BLS? Reach out, and we’ll help you find the class for you!
